Coda Search is partnering with a rapidly growing real estate private equity firm seeking an Assistant Controller to join their expanding corporate accounting team. This role will focus on management company accounting, working closely with senior leadership to oversee financial reporting, month-end close, and process improvements. The firm is experiencing significant growth and are looking to rapidly expand its operations this year
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for the management company
- Prepare and analyze financial statements for the corporate entity
- Manage general ledger reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded
- Supervise and review accounts payable, expense allocations, and accruals to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Analyze expenses and prepare schedules for prepaids, fixed assets, etc
- Assist in the preparation of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Work closely with treasury and FP&A teams to optimize cash management and financial planning.
- Partner with external auditors to support the annual audit process and provide necessary documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 6 years of experience in accounting, preferably within a Big 4 firm or a real estate investment/asset management company.
- Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) a
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with senior leadership.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification is preferred.
Salary : $130,000 - $160,000
