Job Summary :
The Maintenance Manager affects the organization of the Maintenance Department, its reporting and record keeping systems, and manages all activities and personnel of the maintenance and machine shop departments of the company. The Maintenance Manager reports to the Engineering Director. The Maintenance Manager, along with the Director of Engineering, manages external contractors, engages external resources and participates in activities ensuring the successful completion of all capital equipment projects and is empowered to :
Maintenance Department Operation
Direct Maintenance Team activity :
Manage effective preventive and predictive maintenance activities using eMaintenance CMMS Program
Assign, assist with and direct corrective machine and equipment repairs
Coordinate PM, Corrective and Project work activity with Production Departments
Assign and manage in-shop repair activity of pumps, motors, gear drives and other equipment
Develop and implement corrective actions for repetitive machine failures
Develop and implement equipment modifications to improve quality, productivity or reliability
Determine departmental skillset requirements and develop the team to achieve them
Coordinate spare and repair parts required for all maintenance activity with the Inventory Specialist
Review completion and quality level of PM, Corrective and Project work activity
Manage / Approve Craftsman timesheets and approve vacation and PTO requests
Ensure safe work practices are adhered to by the Maintenance Team, and address safety concerns within the facility
Ensure good housekeeping practices are adhered to within the Maintenance Shop and throughout the facility
As a salaried / exempt role, the Maintenance Manager must be able to recognize and accommodate instances that require attendance, or the coordination with Maintenance Craftsmen outside of normal working hours
Machine Shop
Interact and coordinate activity with the Lead Machinist to :
Procure in-house fabrication of machine components
Schedule modifications or the repair of damaged components
Coordinate equipment exchange with Fisk offsite equipment refurbishment facility
Identify and partner with external machine shops to meet business needs
Property and Power
Ensure maintenance and upkeep of facilities and grounds at a high-level using Fisk personnel
Hire the services of outside contractors and vendors when required
Coordinate outside services to manage certain solid and liquid waste removal
Assists in communication with utility providers with regards to maintenance, service interruptions and projects
Capital Equipment
Assist in managing equipment fabrication when designed and fabricated by the company
Assist in the installation, startup and initial operation of new equipment
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :
Educational / Training Requirement :
BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline preferred
Technical School Training
PLC and Drive Training
Experience :
Minimum 5 year experience leading a manufacturing maintenance team
Minimum 5 years experience participation major capital equipment projects
