What are the responsibilities and job description for the Float Teacher/Cook position at Coddington Learning Center?
Job Summary
We are a small childcare facility that is able to provide big center opportunities in a home like environment. We are looking to add a part-time Cook/Float Teacher to our team! Teacher will work with children ranging from ages of 6 weeks to 13 years as well as help prepare lunch for the children. Our center participates in Rooted In Relationships to help promote the development of healthy social skills as well as Step Up to Quality.
With summer approaching, closer to full time hours would be available if desired.
Must pass Background Checks as required by the State of NE
Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare lunch for the children daily
- Hold a Food Handler Permit
- Maintain a clean kitchen ensuring it is up to Health Department Standards
- Cleaning/moping the kitchen and bathrooms
- Being in nap room for teachers to have lunch breaks
- Help carry out activity plans when filling in for a teacher
- Encourage children to interact with each other when filling in for a teacher
- Guide children to develop their artistic and
- Communicate with parents regularly
- Collaborate with other educators and program coaches
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
- Maintain a safe environment for the children
- Filling in for teachers who have asked for vacation time
- Cleaning/moping in the kitchen and bathrooms
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
- Willing to complete any trainings necessary to be in compliance with Childcare Licensing
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
Preferred:
- A minimum of 1500 clock hours in a group childcare setting
