Job Summary
We are a small childcare facility that is able to provide big center opportunities in a home like environment. We are looking to add a Full-Time Float Teacher to our team! Teacher will work with children ranging from ages of 6 weeks to 13 years. Will be trained to cover for teachers in all of the classrooms.
Must pass Background Checks as required by the State of NE
Responsibilities and Duties
- Follow the program schedule
- Help carry out activity plans
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media, etc.) to teach children
- Observe each child to help them improve their social skills and build self-esteem
- Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments.
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, do crafts, etc.)
- Communicate with parents regularly
- Collaborate with other educators and program coaches
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
- Maintain a safe environment for the children
- Attend 24 hours of annual in-service
- Attend classes required by Childcare licensing within the first 60 days of employment.
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Ability to act as a mediator between children
- Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
- A balance between a creative mind and a practical understanding.
Preferred:
- A minimum of 1500 clock hours in a group childcare setting
- Certification in child CPR/First aid or willingness to obtain
