What is a "Co-Op"?
Cooperative education is a structured method of combining classroom-based education with practical work experience. A "Co-Op" provides academic credit for structured full-time job experience. To be eligible for a Co-Op position with CodeMettle, candidates must be currently enrolled in school and be able to commit to at least 2 semesters of full-time work with us. You will work with us full-time for the entirety of your semester. Semesters worked do not need to be consecutive.
As a Summer 2025 Associate Software Engineer Coop/Intern, you will work as an active participant on one of our engineering teams to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of various software products and systems for customers and internal stakeholders.
An Associate Software Engineer is responsible for performing in a number of roles such as:
- Assisting Software Engineers with requirements gathering, designing, developing, installing, testing, and de-bugging of CodeMettle software
- Creating automation and scripts needed to communicate with various equipment types in broadcast, network and satellite industries
- Assisting software engineers with design and execution stress tests on a web architecture
- Assisting software engineers with evaluation of new web-based technologies
- Interfacing with customer to gather requirements and implement automation
- Assists software engineers with predefined development tasks
- Developing an understanding of software systems
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
- General computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, OO design (Required)
- Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Python, C#)
- Familiarity with React, Typescript, Node is a plus
- Familiarity with browser APIs and a foundational understanding of the HTTP protocol is a plus
- Familiarity with TCP/IP networking is a plus
- Able to function well in a collaborative, team environment or independently
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools
- Able to manage time effectively and prioritize to meet deadlines
