Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Identifies opportunities to improve project coordination processes, recommends, and implements solutions.
- Facilitates project initiation activities, including defining contractual obligations, understanding client needs and goals, assessing the current situation, and gathering necessary contacts and information.
- Reviews and refines plans to ensure alignment with costs, timeline, funding, staffing requirements, and goals.
- Develops detailed project plans, including scope, activities, schedules, deadlines, and cost/time estimates.
- Prepares and delivers informational and decision-seeking presentations to technical and business teams.
- Assigns project tasks to team members based on expertise and availability.
- Proactively manages project risks, issues, and progress to ensure objectives (e.g., deadlines, scope, and quality) are achieved. Supports problem resolution and risk mitigation as necessary.
- Collaborates with project team members, internal departments, and client organizations to meet project goals.
- Identifies and implements more efficient and effective approaches to assigned tasks, aligning with timelines, system architecture, and user needs.
- Conducts project closure activities, including formalizing and communicating project acceptance, transitioning ongoing responsibilities to appropriate teams, and performing post-implementation reviews to identify successes and areas for improvement.
- Actively pursues project management certification or leverages equivalent experience.

Experience:
- 5–7 years of experience in project management within financial services or a related industry; or
- 5–7 years of experience in a client-focused field (e.g., business analysis, programming, telecommunications, legal); or
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Candidates with project management certifications or actively pursuing them are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in utilizing various types of IT project methodologies and life cycles (e.g., conversions, client/server, incremental, rapid delivery, classic or traditional waterfall phases of analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation) and applying them to projects appropriately.
- Comprehensive understanding of project management standards, processes, procedures, and guidelines, with the ability to recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Familiarity with industry-recognized project management best practices (e.g., Project Management Body of Knowledge - PMBOK).
- Strong understanding of communication and escalation management techniques.
- Knowledge and experience in the risk and issues management process, including risk identification, quantification, and response (e.g., acceptance, mitigation, avoidance, response control).
- Proficiency in budgeting and forecasting processes, particularly as they pertain to organizational goals.
- Familiarity with standards relevant to the software industry, such as ISO, CMM, and Six Sigma.
- Understanding of procurement management processes, including acquiring goods and services and managing internal or external resources.
- Advanced proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project and auxiliary tools, such as earned value databases, audit tools, project repositories, risk management tools, issues and action item databases, SLIM Estimate, Metrics and Control, PlanView, and Platinum Process Continuum).
- Skill in conducting interviews and assessments, creating an inclusive and collaborative project environment.
- Ability to define client business, fiscal, and functional objectives, and prepare clear scope statements summarizing project justification, major deliverables, and objectives.
- Skill in resolving project-related issues proactively within established parameters.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and timelines for small to large-scale projects.
- Proficiency in negotiation techniques to align varying viewpoints effectively.
- Experience facilitating risk/issue tracking meetings and managing changes to project scope.
