About the Opportunity:
The Manufacturing specialist will be part of the Manufacturing Operations group and will be responsible for setting up and operating the new purification production area. This individual will be working closely with the purification technologies team within the larger TechOps organization to internally tech transfer and manufacture enzymes to support the ECO Synthesis platform™ and its commercialization. This position is an on-site role at our Redwood City facility.

- Enjoy spearheading and setting up new operations to manufacture cutting-edge products for patients in need on time and in full.
- Detail oriented and loves solving complex issues in real-time and have experience working in a regulated pharmaceutical/biotech environment.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Serve as the lead downstream specialist for coordinating team responsibilities for setting up and operating the new purification manufacturing area.
- Lead in the creation, review, and revision of SOPs, batch records, and forms in coordination with management, purification development, and quality assurance.
- Serve as the liaison with the purification technologies SMEs to adopt newer processes into the manufacture of ECO enzymes.
- Maintain raw material supply, and ensure production areas are stocked and prepared for manufacturing.
- Lead manufacturing activities related to clarification, chromatography, TFF, and filling.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- BS or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry or relevant scientific field with minimum of 5 years of experience in purification process development and manufacturing operations in a pharmaceutical/biotech environment.
- Expert user of pilot scale AKTA chromatographic instruments (AKTA pilot, AKTA ready or similar).
- Strong working understanding of manufacturing operations under a Quality Management System (GMP, ISO13485 or similar).
- Ability to work independently to troubleshoot processes and adopt new methods.
- Train staff members and colleagues on chromatographic production and operations.
Additional experience that would be valuable for this role includes:
- Experience working under nuclease-free environments and with nuclease-free consumables.
CODEXIS PAY TRANSPARENCY: The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Redwood City is $110,000 to $150,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Codexis is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
