Position Overview
Codman Academy Charter Public School is seeking a Talent Recruitment and Human Resources Manager to lead efforts in attracting, hiring, and retaining top-tier educators and staff. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and HR compliance to ensure a thriving and diverse school culture. The Talent Recruitment and HR Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the school’s mission by fostering an inclusive and high-performing work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Recruitment & Hiring
Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract highly qualified candidates.
Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring.
Cultivate relationships with universities, professional networks, and community organizations to build a strong talent pipeline.
Develop and supervise the teacher induction program in accordance with the requirements of the Department of Education.
Ensure a fair and equitable hiring process that aligns with Codman Academy’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Onboarding & Employee Engagement
Lead the onboarding process to ensure new hires have a seamless transition into the school community.
Develop and implement professional development initiatives that support staff retention and growth.
Work collaboratively with school leadership to create a positive and inclusive work culture.
Human Resources Management & Labor Relations
Maintain accurate employee records, including contracts, certifications, licensure, and background checks.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including teacher licensure and certification requirements.
Serve as the point of contact for employee relations matters, conflict resolution, and workplace concerns.
Collaborate with school leadership and legal counsel on labor relations matters, including union negotiations, contract interpretation, and policy implementation.
Address employee grievances, investigate workplace disputes, and recommend appropriate resolutions.
Discipline & Performance Management
Support performance evaluation processes and provide HR guidance to leadership.
Oversee and implement disciplinary procedures in accordance with school policies and labor laws.
Conduct investigations into employee misconduct and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Provide training and guidance to managers on handling employee discipline and performance issues fairly and legally.
Compensation, Benefits & Compliance
Oversee payroll processes in coordination with the finance team.
Manage employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
Ensure compliance with all employment policies, labor laws, and school policies.
Conduct HR audits and maintain personnel records in accordance with best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
3 years of experience in HR, recruitment, or talent management (experience in education or non-profits is a plus).
Strong understanding of employment laws, labor relations, and HR best practices.
Experience handling employee relations, disciplinary matters, and workplace investigations.
Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Additional duties as assigned by the Head of School to support the overall success of Codman Academy.
Salary Range
$95,000 - $125,000
