Position Summary : We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Human Resources department, focusing on payroll processing, employee onboarding, and ensuring compliance with employment regulations, including I-9 verification. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a strong understanding of HR practices, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities :
Payroll Administration : Accurately process semi-monthly payroll, ensuring all employee hours, overtime, and deductions are correctly recorded and compliant with state and federal regulations.
Employee Onboarding : Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, including the completion and verification of I-9 forms, collection of necessary documentation, and conducting orientation sessions to familiarize new employees with company policies and procedures.
Record Maintenance : Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS, ensuring all information is current and accurate. Perform regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Benefits Administration : Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits.
Compliance and Reporting : Stay informed about changes in employment laws and regulations to ensure company compliance. Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies as needed.
Employee Relations : Provide support in addressing employee concerns and questions, fostering a positive work environment. Assist in organizing employee engagement activities and recognition programs.
General Administrative Support : Assist with day-to-day HR operations, including scheduling meetings, preparing correspondence, and other administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications :
Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a human resources role, with a focus on payroll and compliance.
Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems
Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations, particularly regarding payroll and I-9 compliance.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
