Job Summary
The Service Group Leader is responsible for the overall coordination of all technical activities in the Service Department and interaction with other departments.
This position requires ability, knowledge, and experience in testing and repairing electro-mechanical equipment, preferably printers, investigating causes for failures, and documenting repair information.
Time will be split roughly 85% on equipment repairs and 15% on administrative duties.
Duties and Responsibilities : (subject to change)
- Train other service personnel to troubleshoot, test, and repair Codonics equipment.
- Oversee workflow and performance of the service group.
- Coordinate the use of a company-wide manufacturing system to schedule activity, track component usage, and capture and report service-related measures.
- Evaluate repair trends and act to support continuous improvements by reporting to quality.
- Frequent interaction with technical support and customer service personnel.
- Additional duties may need to be performed as determined by the Director of Technical Services.
Education and Experience :
- 5 years in service and technical support / service of electro-mechanical equipment including hands-on troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, and testing.
- Associate degree or higher in a related field of study.
Required Skills :
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with experience in a direct supervisory role.
- A strong technical background with computers, Ethernet, TCP / IP, and, preferably, repair of electro-mechanical equipment.
- A strong desire to take part in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Optional Skills :
- Experience developing written departmental procedures.
- Experience training others.
- Knowledgeable in basic statistical process control, or that have operations related experience.
