Annual Fund Director
Coe College seeks qualified candidates for the position of Annual Fund Director. This position is responsible for the strategic direction of and implementation of all phases of the College’s annual giving program, overseeing direct mail, email and phone solicitation programs to ensure the college reaches the Annual Fund goal each year supporting the operating expenses of the college. This includes working with campus partners and volunteers to implement other fundraising initiatives, such as crowdfunding, reunion giving, and annual giving days. The Director will also manage a portfolio of leadership donor prospects and will set and fulfill fundraising goals. Excellent verbal and written skills, creativity, a demonstrated capacity to perform and incorporate data analysis and create strategies using industry best practices, and a commitment to the mission of the College are prerequisites for this position.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for implementation of all phases of the College’s annual giving program, overseeing direct mail, email and phone solicitation programs. This includes working with campus partners and volunteers to implement other fundraising initiatives, such as crowdfunding, reunion giving, and annual giving days.
  • Direct all email and direct mail solicitation efforts, including campus partners in athletics and academics.
  • Design marketing (including social media) and branding strategies for all annual fund appeals, events, and projects, in consultation with Communications Coordinator and Marketing department.
  • Lead the Annual Fund team and manage the operations of the Annual Fund Office [including development and implementation of new systems, budgeting and matters of general policy].
  • Manage a portfolio of leadership donor prospects and set and fulfill fundraising goals.
  • Lead the 50th Reunion giving campaign and event plan with consultation from the Senior Development Officer and Director of Planned Giving
  • Develop solicitation schedule and segmentation strategies and utilize multiple technology platforms to maximize impact and return on investment.
  • Generate new and innovative strategies for solicitation content, including using analysis of donor behavior, writing content, and designing appeals.
  • Regularly analyze giving history and patterns as well as current development trends to develop solicitation strategies. The Director will bring those observations to monthly major gifts meetings to direct individual donor strategy and ensure retention of donors across the fiscal year.
  • Work closely with the Advancement Services Director to develop a program to consistently and in a timely manner thank donors and provide information on how their gifts impact Coe.
  • Work closely with the Alumni team to continuously prospect, build and document the donor pipeline through individual relationship building and engagement.
  • Prepare reports with accurate and consistent data for Alumni Council, President’s Advisory Council and Board of Trustees and other groups as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Requires working evenings and occasional weekend hours.
  • Prior experience in a fundraising, sales or marketing or similar environment requiring solicitation of multiple audiences with segment specific messages preferred.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States as visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States as we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
  • Successful completion of a background check in accordance with Coe College policy
