SUMMARY:
The Sales and Events Manager will lead the effort to target existing and new group business while organizing, developing and maintaining a strong relationship with all professional business contacts. Sales and Events Manager is responsible for maximizing not only hotel revenue, catering and banquets revenue but also Casino spend as well. The Sales and Events Manager is responsible for ensuring Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel, Circling Raven Golf Course and the Ssakwa’g’n Spa are showcased to their fullest potential while aligning with the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel marketing strategy. The Sales and Events Manager will consistently monitor and drive a team to function in a highly targeted sales and marketing segmented environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the sales effort as it relates to maximizing hotel occupancy with a focus on a strong average daily rate for the hotel.
- Oversee the Catering Coordinator and Banquets Team are planning and managing all needs of events and catered services.
- Communicating and providing excellent customer service, organizing and coordinating and event timeline, maintaining inventory and overseeing staff and assisting with budgeting.
- Uphold excellent guest service ensuring the contractual and booking process appear seamless to all guests.
- Increase and enhance group base through consistent solicitations while establishing trust and rapport with clients.
- The Sales and Events Manager will provide ongoing training to develop subordinates to probe and document client needs, i.e., rooms, suites, desired dates, day- of –week pattern, program agenda, food and beverage requirements and degree of flexibility in each of these areas.
- Manage information to create profiles where appropriate on a group past history: i.e., previous rooms pick up, arrival/departure dates and double occupancy average rate
- Report group history and performance to upper management to ensure productivity and revenue standards are met.
- Ensure the department reviews availability of clients’ required dates with a focus on maximizing occupancy, average rate & gaming.
- Ensure room availability and rates are aligned with published and allowable company requirements.
- Establish and manage the departmental sales solicitation calls and ensure that sales quota goals are met. Qualifying standards will be determined and communicated based on varied factors, i.e., marketing efforts as they relate the room use.
- The Sales and Events Manager will provide weekly, monthly, and annual reports which will clearly support and validate productivity standards.
- Ensure Groups Sales Coordinator is managing and completing group resumes and documentation efficiently.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure all responsible parties/entities, i.e., Food/Beverage, Security, Hotel are aware of their responsibility as it relates to securing a completed and signed contract.
- Ensure via written communication to all necessary departments (i.e. Front Desk Housekeeping and Sales Department) of pending/open and tentative bookings.
- Ensure the team has all signed contracts processed with definite booking ticket/form, function room outline and credit/direct billing application.
- Oversee, manage and track the way in which reservations are presented as well as the pick–up of group blocks to ensure adherence to predetermined cut off dates.
- Ensure client relationships are being built and enhanced while in-house to be certain all needs are met and handle any last -minute needs as they arise.
- Ensure and enforce the documentation of all soft exit interview with clients occur and levels of satisfaction are met.
- Ensure all members of the sales team maintain knowledge of casino promotions.
- Attend extra-curricular activities and meetings, and accept any responsibilities or projects as directed by the Director of Food and Beverage.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to acquire a Class A Gaming License.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- Maintain positive working environment for hotel and casino staff.
- Must have a High School Diploma or the equivalent.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have 7-10 years of related experience in Sales/Banquets in a Casino/Hotel environment.
