Reporting to the Vice President, Operational Excellence, we are seeking a Director, Operational Excellence. The Director, Operational Excellence, will serve as a change agent, drawing on extensive experience utilizing LEAN and Six Sigma tools and coaching organizations on use of those tools, to optimize the Management Operating System (MOS) at the operations, and to embed a continuous improvement culture into all levels of the organization.
This role can be remotely located, with travel to mine sites / corporate as required.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the development and implementation of the Management Operating System (MOS) for the mining operations ensuring sites and functions are utilizing the process to drive improvements in performance.
- Develop, implement and support the effective application of best practices as Standard Work, Standard Operating Conditions and Standard Operating Procedures at operational bottlenecks. Complete system reviews in conjunction with leaders at the operations to identify and close gaps.
- Facilitate detailed problem-solving sessions for material challenges at the operations. Inject a positive, proactive, solution focused approach into the process, and support the team to confidently own the problem and control the outcome.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to all levels of the organization on applying MOS principles and methodologies partnering with key stakeholders to align MOS initiatives with business needs.
- Run Kaizens, in conjunction with area managers at the operations, to deliver improvements to safety, productivity, costs, and further embed continuous improvement thinking into the organization.
- Develop and lead execution of projects as required within the Operational Excellence Department, consisting of MOS, Business Improvement, Analytics, Maintenance and Supply Chain functions.
- Drive the standardization and integration of MOS practices across multiple sites and departments
- Other duties as assigned, according to the changing needs of the business
Qualifications and Experience Requirements :
The expected salary range for this role is USD $170,000-180,000. This range is a good-faith estimate, but the final salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, including job-related education, training, and prior experience. This role is eligible to earn additional compensation under Coeur’s discretionary bonus program. This role is also eligible to participate in Coeur’s comprehensive benefits package, including retirement savings benefits, health benefits, paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life and accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits.
Salary : $170,000 - $180,000
