About the Job :
The Temporary Environmental Technician will report to the Environmental Coordinator and is responsible for safe and efficient sampling, data collection, and assistance with regulatory reporting. Additionally, the Environmental Technician will be responsible for conducting inspections and or monitoring related to air, water and waste compliance programs. The schedule for this position is 4 days on at the mine site located about 45-miles north of Juneau, accessible only through company transportation, and 3 days off. The timeframe for employment is approximately April 1, 2025 to November 1, 2025. With the possibility of returning in 2026 for the same timeframe.
Responsibilities :
- Performs soil, groundwater, surface water, waste, sediment and air sampling
- Collect, review and analyze environmental data
- Input data into an environmental database
- Uses field instruments and equipment as necessary to meet health and safety as well as field sampling and O&M requirements
- Assist with preparation of routine submittals to regulatory agencies to document system performance and compliance with permit requirements
- Documents all field activities and notes
- Communicates effectively with project managers and client personnel
- Has a high degree of health and safety awareness
- Works within defined scopes, schedules and budgets while producing quality work
- Maintains knowledge of sampling procedures and protocols in accordance with recognized industry standards

The schedule for this position requires residency in Juneau, AK. Temporary positions are not benefit eligible.
