Job Overview
The Coghlin Companies is seeking a highly skilled Product Development Systems Engineering Lead to join our team. As a key member of our product development group, you will work closely with our Staff Technologist and Project Engineering Manager to assess incoming opportunities and advise on alignment with our value-add proposition and capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of technical documents, including the generation of Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs)
- Provide technical assessment and feasibility evaluation of conceptual designs and ensure adherence to our design review process
- Assess technical solutions and provide feedback to the team
- Work with Project Engineering Manager to provide oversight and guidance to Project Engineers related to technical content and overall product development process adherence
- Contribute to continuous process improvement within the group
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related discipline; Master's preferred
- 8 years of engineering product development experience; demonstrated success of managing complex projects from inception to commercialization
- Strong skills in project management by influence rather than authority
- Experience in the technical management of cross-functional engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, and software
- Experience with ERP and PDM systems required; Kinetic and SolidWorks PDM a plus
- Project management experience in a Time & Materials environment, executed to an approved statement of work
- Experience with Agile project management techniques and supporting software tools a plus
- Excellent written and communication skills, including experience presenting to customers and internal leadership
Working Environment
- Generally works in an office environment, but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting
- Occasional travel required
