POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Senior Vice President, Human Resources, will oversee all strategic aspects of the Human Resources function while ensuring excellence in daily operations. This role is pivotal in strengthening company culture, driving employee engagement, and supporting talent development. The SVP will act as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team and foster an environment that reflects Cogir's vision, values, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic HR Leadership:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR strategies with Cogir's business goals.
- Provide thought leadership on HR trends and workforce analytics to support organizational decision-making.
Culture & Engagement:
- Champion Cogir's vision, values, and culture across all levels of the organization.
- Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, fostering a workplace where all employees feel valued and empowered.
- Drive employee engagement strategies to enhance retention and satisfaction.
Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding:
- Oversee recruitment efforts, ensuring structures and strategies attract top talent from senior living, healthcare, and hospitality sectors.
- Enhance employer branding to position Cogir as a preferred workplace.
Employee Relations:
- Partner with community teams to ensure a consistent, effective employee experience aligned with Cogir's values.
- Develop proactive solutions to address employee recognition, retention, and performance.
Performance Management & Development:
- Oversee learning and development programs to support career growth and leadership readiness.
- Implement and refine systems to ensure meaningful performance evaluations and succession planning.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Ensure benefits and policies remain competitive and compliant with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Innovate compensation strategies to align with industry standards and support organizational goals.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Lead compliance efforts, including employee relations, investigations, and adherence to state and federal laws, particularly in California.
- Develop and implement unified titles, career paths, and policies across the organization.
Mergers & Acquisitions:
- Contribute to due diligence and integration planning for acquisitions.
- Oversee employee transitions and change management efforts for acquired communities.
HR and Payroll Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the HR and payroll teams to deliver operational excellence.
- Ensure payroll practices are effective, accurate, and compliant.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Education and Certifications:
- A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is required.
- Master's degree and/or SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
Experience:
- At least 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience at a senior level.
- Experience in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality industries is strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of leading cultural transformations and implementing HR best practices.
