POSITION SUMMARY
The Telecom Administrator will manage and optimize the organization's telecommunications systems, including account administration, billing oversight, cost optimization, and project implementation. This role ensures seamless, efficient telecom operations while supporting the organization's evolving communication needs. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, tech-savvy professional passionate about optimizing telecom systems and supporting organizational efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Account Administration
- Manage user telecom access accounts, permissions, and profiles across various telecom vendors.
- Oversee the setup and deactivation of telecom services, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with company policies.
- Maintain database of telecom contracts for 100 facilities.
- Coordinate with service providers to troubleshoot issues and maintain a reliable service level.
Billing Approval and Cost Management
- Review, validate, and approve telecom bills to ensure accuracy and proper allocation.
- Analyze billing data to detect discrepancies, minimize errors, and ensure alignment with service agreements.
- Maintain accurate records of telecom expenses, document changes, and provide regular reports to finance and management teams.
Cost Optimization
- Evaluate current telecom expenses to identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Recommend and implement cost-saving measures, such as service plan adjustments, consolidation of accounts, and contract renegotiations.
- Work with vendors to negotiate competitive rates and assess new options that meet the organization's requirements and budget goals.
Project Implementation and Support
- Lead telecom-related projects like system upgrades, migrations, and new service integrations.
- Collaborate with IT, facilities, accounting, and other departments to ensure successful planning, scheduling, and execution of telecom projects.
Vendor Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for telecom vendors, contractors, and service providers, managing relationships to ensure quality service delivery.
- Conduct regular meetings with contractors to get updates on project status
Telecom Analytics and Reporting
- Track telecom cost metrics, providing insights to support data-driven decisions.
- Prepare reports on usage, cost trends, and system performance to inform strategic planning.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience, is required.
Experience and Skills:
- At least three (3) years of experience in telecommunications administration, billing management, and cost optimization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in billing review and cost management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office products
- Experience with enterprise telecom systems and service provider management.
- Knowledge of telecom cost-saving strategies and industry best practices.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Exceptionally self-motivated and directed, able to set and manage priorities judiciously.
