Position: Business Development Manager – Industrial Automation
Overview:
We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand our presence in the industrial automation market. This role focuses on achieving sales targets, developing long-term customer relationships, and delivering profitable margins for a portfolio of automation solutions and services. As a key representative of the company, you will actively manage customer accounts, develop new business opportunities, and collaborate with internal teams to execute the company’s growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales and Growth:
- Achieve annual sales and orders targets across automation and control system solutions.
- Build and nurture customer, vendor, and channel partner relationships to create opportunities with new and existing accounts.
- Maintain an active sales funnel with opportunities valued at three times the annual sales goal and provide monthly CRM updates.
- Customer Strategy:
- Lead the sales strategy for assigned accounts, aligning technical and commercial solutions with customer needs.
- Advocate for customers internally, ensuring their goals and expectations are addressed.
- Identify opportunities through frequent contact, networking, and targeted marketing campaigns.
- Proposal and Quoting:
- Work closely with estimating teams to ensure accurate quotes and alignment with company margin standards.
- Drive the execution of marketing campaigns, attend trade shows, and deliver customer testimonials to strengthen the company’s presence.
- Collaboration and Reporting:
- Lead cross-functional collaboration to address customer needs and ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide accurate monthly forecasts and participate in key trade events to identify and develop opportunities.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Industry Expertise: Minimum 5 years in the controls, automation, or electrical engineering industries, with experience in PLCs and industrial applications.
- Sales Acumen: Proven track record in technical sales, opportunity tracking, and CRM use.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of industrial control systems, including automation solutions and industry-specific applications.
- Personal Attributes: Goal-oriented, self-driven, and adept at influencing decision-makers.
