We are looking for an experienced music instructor to join our team and provide one-on-one instruction to students. The ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for teaching and be able to create a positive learning environment. The Instructor will be responsible for helping students understand difficult concepts, developing lesson plans, and assessing student progress. The successful candidate must also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with students of all ages and backgrounds.
While working with CogniTutor, LLC, you choose your own working times as a music instructor. What's more, you get the chance to receive more experience and a mentor who may be able to write a letter of recommendation for your future endeavors. You will be an instructor or teacher to students, keep up your schedule on our calendar, and submit session reports with data after each session. The instructor must be a certified teacher or have a degree in some aspect of music or music education. The need is for teaching music to a 5-year old boy living in SE 3rd Loop, Ocala, Florida, 34472. Specific schedule will be determined by the instructor and client. This is an immediate hire and will require a background check as well as proof of teaching certificate or degree. Instructor must be knowledgeable and comfortable working with a student that is ESA.
This is a great position to have as supplemental or part-time work! You get to create your own schedule and choose which students you will take on!
Responsibilities:
- Understand the subject matter and be able to explain it clearly.
- Be patient and understanding of the student's learning style.
- Be able to identify areas of difficulty for the student and provide appropriate guidance.
- Develop a personalized learning plan for each student.
- Provide feedback on the student's progress.
- Maintain a positive learning environment.
Potential tutors with CogniTutor must have:
- Reliable transportation
- Consistency with scheduling students
- GPA above a 3.2
- Teaching license or degree in the subject area you are tutoring
- Experience teaching or playing guitar
- Great communication skills
- Ability to navigate computers
- Fluency in English language
- Flexibility to work afternoons and evenings – possibly mornings in some cases
- Willingness to travel up to 40 miles (tutors are independent contractors so we do not reimburse for travel; instead, a higher hourly rate is paid for time with a student dependent on how far the drive is)
- Availability to meet in students' homes
