Do you like working with middle & high school kids and do you love education? While working with CogniTutor, LLC, you choose your own working times as a tutor. What's more, you get the chance to receive more experience and a manager who may be able to write a letter of recommendation for your future endeavors. You will be an instructor or teacher to students, keep up your schedule on our calendar, and submit session reports after session. We are looking to hire Math & Reading tutors in Oakland Park, FL, and surrounding areas!
This is a great position to have as supplemental to a full time job! You get to create your own schedule and choose which students you will take on!
Academic Tutor and Mentor Requirements:
- Reliable transportation
- Consistency with scheduling students
- MUST HAVE a 4-year college degree in English, reading, math, education, or similar field OR an active teaching license
- Great communication skills
- Tutoring capabilities up to a high school level in math & reading
- Ability to navigate computers
- Flexibility to work after school hours & early evenings (must have availability from 3pm to 6pm Mondays through Fridays)
- Willingness to travel up to 15 miles. When further travel is required, CogniTutor does offer a bump in pay tier to help compensate for travel
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to students' needs.
- Provide one-on-one tutoring and support to enhance student understanding of subjects, particularly reading & math.
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Maintain open communication with students and parents regarding academic performance.
- Ensure a positive learning environment by fostering student engagement and motivation.
- Adhere to educational standards.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 15 per week
