As a Commercial Estimator, you will mentally build the project, pull the necessary components together, and accurately establish the anticipated cost of a project in a leading construction company.
This role requires an advanced understanding of building construction types, including structural systems, building skin and exterior systems, various finishes, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services. Knowledge and understanding of construction management, architecture, or engineering is essential.
The Commercial Estimator must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, leadership qualities, and organizational abilities. This position also emphasizes continuous training and development to expand estimating skills.
How You'll Contribute
- Execute strategies to win Bid Pursuits and prepare complete Pre construction Estimates.
- Collaborate with the Estimating and Pre construction Team in the development of the Win Strategy.
- Review bid / contract documents to assess risks and advantages.
- Analyse contract terms with input from the Senior Estimator, Estimating Manager, Pre construction Manager, VP of Pre construction & Estimating, Regional Leader, Project Executive, and / or Contracts Manager as needed.
- Work with the Estimating Manager / VP of Pre construction & Estimating to assign team members on projects you are leading.
- Participate in or lead pursuit meetings (as Bid Captain) to ensure coverage from subcontractors, completeness of scope, and adherence to the Win Strategy.
