What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal Network Architect position at Coherent Corp.?
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Assesses the current IT environment and develops a future state IT architecture.
- Builds the long-term strategic roadmap for network and infra-security architecture in line with business priorities and objectives and guides technology investment decisions based on analysis and evaluation to drive targeted business outcomes.
- Leads evaluation, design, and analysis for the implementation of a solutions architecture across a group of technologies based on enterprise business & IT strategy, requirements and enterprise standards.
- Provides thought leadership on new technologies; drives proof-of-concepts and technical feasibility studies. Partners with subject-matter experts to facilitate the design, optimization, standardization, and transformation of network and cybersecurity solutions.
- Designs high-availability, high-performing, and scalable heterogeneous network services.
- Partners with other solution architects to provide scalable and adaptable architectural solutions, while promoting the use of a shared infrastructure and application roadmap to reduce costs and improve information flows.
- Establishes governing principles for network architecture and design.
- Understands business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state) and determines corresponding enterprise network designs and change requirements to drive the organization's targeted business outcomes.
- Analyzes the network environment (run, grow and transform the business) to detect critical deficiencies, legacy and technical debt, and recommends solutions for improvement (systems of record, differentiation and innovation).
- Creates short and long-term storage roadmaps based on an understanding of the strategic organizational requirements and technology alternatives.
