What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor, Shipping/Receiving position at Coke Florida Careers?
The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor will be responsible for leading and developing our shipping and receiving team to accurately and efficiently pick, process, ship, and receive orders on a daily basis. This position will be expected to develop and execute work standards for performance to measure and improve productivity, efficiency, and accuracy. In addition, to resolve time-sensitive issues for expedited shipments and coordinate shipping materials, receiving and inventory duties to ensure controls for incoming and outgoing materials and products. They will also be responsible to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
The overall responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Managing day-to-day work assignments: prioritizing shipments to achieve on-time shipping objectives.
Maintains shipping/receiving areas to include interaction with material handling personnel, completing appropriate paperwork and setting shipping appointments with trucking companies.
Receives and examines incoming and outgoing shipments.
Assist with freight claims efficiently regarding customer orders.
Maintains all files and records related to shipping operation.
Inventories packing and shipping supplies, and orders additional supplies as needed.
Develops a team environment and promotes a positive attitude within the department.
Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
Ensures proper use of equipment in accordance with safety regulations, and provides training as needed.
Maintains cleanliness of shipping and warehouse areas to include storing materials in appropriate locations.
Assist in inventory management processes.
Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements/Skills:
Strong understanding and experience in logistics/warehousing/inventory management/transportation process.
Ability to measure, analyze, improve and take a leadership role.
Establish performance criteria to measure efficiency within each function.
Knowledge in root cause analysis/problem solving and the ability to implement and drive corrective actions and efficiencies
Experience implementing continuous improvement.
Computer competent and able to update skills within company’s current software
High School Graduate or GED, or any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities.
