This project will potentially run from February 2025 - June 2025 (could potentially extend).
The Duties Of This Internship Will Include The Following
- Analyze the entire tire production process to identify steps that could lead to Out of Round or Out of Balance conditions, including raw materials, machine settings, and final inspection protocols.
- Evaluate current tire inspection methods to determine if they are adequately detecting Out of Round and Out of Balance issues and to assess the effectiveness of these inspection processes.
- Review the processes in place for handling returned or defective tires, including warranty claims. This will include an analysis of how such tires are identified, processed, and replaced to minimize customer dissatisfaction and cost to the business.
- Define and standardize the acceptable thresholds for roundness and balance for each tire model, ensuring alignment with industry standards and customer expectations.
- Investigate how transportation and storage of the tires may contribute to their Out of Round or Out of Balance conditions.
- Review and revise product specifications and engineering drawings to ensure they meet the necessary requirements to avoid defects in tire shape or balance.
- Analyze how the tires are installed in the final product, considering if improper mounting or installation contributes to the Out of Round or Out of Balance issues.
- Examine the process by which customer complaints regarding Out of Round or Out of Balance issues are received and handled, ensuring that customers' concerns are addressed in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Study the distinctions between bias and radial tire designs in relation to their vulnerability to Out of Round or Out of Balance conditions, as well as the specific considerations needed for each type.
