Coker Community Music Program (CCMP) Instructor (Associate Teacher or Senior Teacher) - Coker University is seeking instructors to join the Coker Community Music Program (CCMP) at either the Associate Teacher or Senior Teacher level. The foundation of the Coker Community Music Program has been providing the highest level of private instruction in the Pee Dee region. Our accomplished faculty allow students of all ages and levels to enrich their lives through the study and exploration of music regardless of level or age. Students are matched with instructors based on preference and availability on a semester system, with fall semester running from September-December and spring semester running from January-April. Each semester consists of 12 lessons (30, 45, or 60 minutes each), and culminates with a student recital in our Recital Hall. All lessons take place in the Music Building on Coker's campus. This position will report to the Director of the Coker Community Music Program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Associate Teachers : Newer teachers who may have a bachelor's degree, or may be currently working on a music degree at Coker.
- Senior Teachers : Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree, and often a master's degree, in their field, with significant teaching and / or professional performance experience.
- Professional demeanor, passion for music, and positive and flexible approach to teaching.
- Previous training and technical proficiency on the instrument(s) taught.
- Ability to teach scheduled lessons and recitals consistently and on time.
- Ability to respond quickly and professionally to communication from clients and the Director as needed.
