IA Construction is seeking a QA/QC Intern for our asphalt and aggregate laboratory.
- Responsible for efficient bituminous asphalt testing, asphalt content and gradation, maximum theoretical density of mix and specific gravity of compacted mix.
- Be engaged in and actively participate in safety huddles
- Aggregate material testing, sampling, absorption, LA Abrasion, specifications, un-compacted voids, Sodium / Magnesium Loss, and crush counts
- Inventory products, QC sampling, schedules, specifications, testing, gradations, and crush gravity of compacted mix efficiently
- Bituminous mix design development, complete overview of Pennsylvania design processes for HMC and WMA as per job specifications
Must be enrolled in a relevant educational program.
- Computer, fax, printer, and copier experience
- Ability to build professional relationships with coworkers, management and customers
- Safety conscience and safety oriented
- Some mechanical and maintenance skills
- Basic math skills
- Capable of learning to navigate several types of software programs
- Able to comprehend ASTM and AASHTO standards and procedures
- Able to walk, stand, and sit for periods of time
- May work in various weather conditions
- Lifting, carrying items and climbing stairs will be required.
