What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Professor for Psychology position at Colby-Sawyer College?
Colby-Sawyer College is seeking an Assistant Professor for Psychology to begin teaching in Fall 2025. The college is open to any area of specialization within psychology (e.g., clinical/counseling, social or cognitive) and is looking for a candidate able to contribute upper-level course offerings within their specialty of psychology as well as teach PSYC 101. Candidates who can instruct courses in forensic or child psychology are especially encouraged to apply. This position includes teaching, advising, college service responsibilities, ongoing scholarship and all full-time faculty contribute to the college's liberal education program.
This is a 9-month, tenure-track (TT) position (if terminal degree in place) or non-TT without a terminal degree. Although a doctoral degree in psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) is preferred, professionally licensed candidates with a master's degree and applied clinical/counseling/therapist experience, or candidates with "all but dissertation" (ABD) are encouraged to apply. Considering the importance of clinical skills, we will encourage clinical or counseling faculty to maintain some clinical practice in addition to teaching and service to the college.
