The Cybersecurity program at Plymouth State University invites qualified applicants to apply for a full-time, 9-month, Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Practice to commence in August 2025. We seek a dynamic colleague committed to teaching excellence, student development, and service.
The successful candidate will teach 9-12 credit per semester focusing on foundational and advanced courses for the BS in Cybersecurity program. They will also manage the Cybersecurity labs/Cyber Range as the designated system/network/security administrator. The successful candidate will actively participate in the design, revision, and implementation of the Cybersecurity curriculum changes to meet University and NECHE standards. Applicants must have earned a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity related field and should have 3 years’ of practical experience in Cybersecurity.

Duties/Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following duties:
- Teaching 9-12 credit hours per semester, including a range of courses within the Cybersecurity curriculum as well as courses assigned by the program coordinator
- Managing the Cybersecurity Lab and Cyber Range as the designated System/Network/Security Administrator and providing support as needed/specified by the program coordinator
- Serving as an academic advisor to students majoring in Cybersecurity
- Contributing to programmatic and university service activities
- Participating in admissions, recruitment, outreach, and other public-facing activities aimed at prospective students and promoting cybersecurity initiatives
- Earned master’s degree in Cybersecurity related fields
- College-level cybersecurity teaching experience (as an instructor of record or teaching assistant) or experience hosting cybersecurity training sessions/seminars at the professional level
- Practical and technical experience in managing computer systems, networks, and cybersecurity in a Cyber Range or Cybersecurity Lab, or professional cybersecurity experience
- Ability and willingness to teach a variety of major and service courses
- Commitment to success of all students
