The Computer Science and Technology program at Plymouth State University invites qualified applicants to apply for a full time, 12 month, Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Practice to commence in August 2025. We seek a dynamic colleague committed to teaching excellence, student development, and service. The successful applicant will join an existing team of dedicated, innovative individuals in a multi-disciplinary academic unit , will teach courses in the Robotics sequence, serve as an academic advisor to Robotics students, and participate in service and outreach activities of the Robotics program. They may also teach other courses across the CS&T discipline or in General Education as assigned by the academic unit leader. The successful applicant will also manage the Robotics & Maker Space labs. They will enhance and significantly grow our existing Robotics program and forge relationships with local community colleges and high schools. Establishing relationships with local robotics companies is a natural outcome of this person’s role.
The search is open to all robotics-related fields, including Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science. Applicants must have earned a Masters degree and have 3 to 5 years experience in Mechanical/Electrical/Systems Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field. But, preference is given to applicants with broad-based knowledge, practice and skills in Robotics and Mechatronics. A broad-based systems-oriented perspective is essential.
