Job Purpose: Manage and supervise all fleet maintenance activities at the local facility, including inventory control, work orders, technician oversight, and maintenance billing. This role is responsible for ensuring smooth operation of in-house fleet maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise fleet shop billing and maintenance processes to ensure timely and accurate repairs.
- Monitor parts inventory and work orders to ensure proper billing and adherence to the parts budget.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with State, Federal, and Company regulations and standards.
- Ensure facility operations are in compliance with fleet maintenance policies and corporate purchasing guidelines.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with in-house technicians to improve workflow and productivity.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors for outsourced repairs to ensure timely return to service.
- Provide mechanical support for preventative maintenance when necessary.
- Oversee tire program and manage tire casing assets.
- Audit mechanic performance and conduct performance evaluations.
- Maintain a valid Commercial Class A driver’s license and DOT medical certification.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in a fleet shop or heavy equipment maintenance environment.
