What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Manager position at Cold Storage Recruiting?
Duties:
Leadership & Supervision:
- Oversee staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution for associates.
- Manage fleet maintenance operations and resolve issues.
Fleet Maintenance & Operations:
- Approve department expenses and ensure fleet equipment is properly maintained.
- Supervise fleet fueling operations and provide dispatch backup.
Contract & Inventory Management:
- Negotiate bids for projects, equipment, and parts.
- Manage parts purchases and maintain inventory.
Safety & Compliance:
- Investigate accidents, conduct road tests, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain required fleet licenses and certificates.
Budget & Capital Planning:
- Evaluate equipment needs and approve expenses for operating supplies and services.
Other Duties:
- Perform additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field.
- Experience:
- Required: 4-6 years in fleet maintenance and supervisory roles, with knowledge of DOT regulations.
- Preferred: 6-10 years in fleet maintenance and supervisory roles within the foodservice industry.
- Required: Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
