POSITION SUMMARY
Logistics is a core component of D’Artagnan’s success and growth. D’Artagnan is seeking a Fleet Service Manager to oversee all company vehicles. The Fleet Manager will ensure that the overall management of vehicles and equipment is executed efficiently and safely. You will directly manage the fleet operations in NJ while establishing processes/procedures and overseeing Fleet Operations at other locations through coordination and collaboration with local management.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the operation of all company-owned or leased vehicles
- Ensure each vehicle adheres to industry standards and regulations for emissions, usage and operation.
- Track the use of each piece of equipment
- Collect and review all equipment daily checklists, following up on non-conformance and damage
- Complete vehicle spot audits on a daily basis
- Streamline and monitor fuel purchase systems
- Manage the maintenance of all company-owned or leased vehicles
- Register, license and maintain all required documentation for the vehicles
- Continually follow up on the status of repairs to ensure that vehicles and equipment are ready when promised
- Enhance the existing vehicle and equipment preventative maintenance program that will reduce equipment downtime.
- Plan, process and execute truck purchases, leases and rental requests for new and replacement vehicles
- Look for ways to cut equipment and vehicle costs
- Assist in budget process
- Keep management and team members informed of all issues related to Fleet Operations as well as potential problems involving repairs
- Able to resolve issues quickly with little to no direction from superior
- Able to anticipate business needs and plan accordingly to ensure that equipment and fiscal resources are utilized in the most efficient manner
- Vendor negotiation and vehicle purchasing experience
TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of high school diploma
- 3 years of experience with Fleet Management and mechanical background
- Strong background in Business Management and Operations
- Experience in the recording and delivery of all information and records related to fleet maintenance
- Must have an understanding of and experience with all aspects of DOT compliance
- Able to resolve issues quickly with little to no direction from superior
- Able to anticipate business needs and plan accordingly to ensure that equipment and fiscal resources are utilized in the most efficient mannerVendor negotiation and vehicle purchasing experience
