Hours: Monday – Friday 6:00am - 3:00pm
JOB SUMMARY: The Main Plant Supervisor is responsible for the leadership and direction of the Main Plant production facility including the finishing, diamond wire, and facing areas to ensure they meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Identify and eliminate potential safety hazards and issues
- Monitor shop floor daily activities to identify performance issues and work with employees to solve these issues and create opportunities for success
- Conducts daily shift meetings and participates in daily/weekly supervisor production meetings
- Schedule and plan daily production line up to place hourly reports in locations and to meet production goals working with other area supervisors
- Monitor, review, and coach implementation of daily productivity improvements to ensure corporate goals are met
- Review internal and external cost of quality reports and take action on a daily basis to identify and correct quality issues
- Review and maintain interplant inventories and WIP as needed per area to meet production needs
- Manage work flow in and through SPI departments and within other CS business units to ensure consistent material and work
- Work with Plant Manager on controlling all department costs and developing metrics to track these costs to contain and improve
- Review and maintain finish criteria for panels and finished goods working with Quality Manager to meet customer and Plant Manager needs
- Monitor all major repairs in area of responsibility
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, High School Diploma plus appropriate experience is acceptable
Experience:
- 3-5 Years related experience
Knowledge:
- Must possess good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lead and direct people
- Ability to understand and create performance metrics for quality, cost, and delivery
- Document and implementing safety, 5S, TPM, quality, and production related work instructions
- Understand AFE, cost, and purchasing systems
- Have a lean manufacturing disciple
