Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Groundskeeper to join our team. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of the property grounds, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Landscape Maintenance: Mow lawns, trim hedges, and maintain planting beds. Care for trees, shrubs, flowers, and other landscaping elements, ensuring they are healthy and attractive.
- Litter Control: Patrol the property regularly to remove trash, debris, and foliage, keeping all areas clean and inviting.
- Watering and Irrigation: Operate, monitor, and maintain irrigation systems to provide adequate water to plants and lawns. Repair leaks and adjust schedules based on weather.
- Pest and Weed Control: Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides as needed, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines.
- Equipment Maintenance: Safely operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, chain saws, and blowers. Perform minor repairs on small engines and equipment.
- Facility Upkeep: Perform light maintenance on outdoor structures like fences, benches, and gates.
- Safety Compliance: Follow HIOSH/OSHA safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Additional Maintenance Duties:
- Assist with light HVAC, plumbing, and electrical diagnostics (not requiring a licensed professional).
- Read and document sub-water meter readings monthly.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or maintenance is preferred.
- Familiarity with HIOSH/OSHA safety regulations.
- Ability to operate landscaping and maintenance tools/equipment safely and efficiently.
- Physical ability to bend, lift, push, stand, and climb as needed to complete tasks.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and adaptable to changing team and project needs.
