JOB DESCRIPTION

SAFETY COORDINATOR

The West Ready-Mix division is looking for a Safety Coordinator to implement, manage, and monitor safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet DOT safety regulations.

JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with executing our safety-first strategy and zero accident culture.
• Ensure driver and worksite safety including training, documentation, audits, and reporting.
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
• Assist in safety efforts by researching, planning, developing, and implementing programs and procedures necessary to meet compliance and safety needs.
• Lead safety trainings as needed.
• Communicate to all parties in real time to ensure all safety matters are dealt with timely and accurately.
• Monitor and track compliance with FMCSA requirements, including CSA cores.
• Maintain proper safety records and documentation and communicate to all levels of the organization as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

• Bachelors degree focused on Occupational Safety, or a related field preferred or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of experience in DOT safety compliance
• Previous experience with DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA rules and regulations
• Ability to identify and correct safety deficiencies
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels
• Working knowledge with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Clean and valid drivers license
• Well-organized approach to constant changing working conditions and/or priorities
• Must be punctual, have a strong work ethic, and maintain a good attendance record.
