Overview
We are seeking an experienced dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Coder & Biller to join our team. We are multi disciplinary practice that provides services in medication management, psychological testing and mental health therapy. The ideal candidate will understand modifiers, various cpt codes to maximize reimbursement and the nuances of insurance verification. This role is essential in providing support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. The ideal candidate will work closely with patients, assisting them in their daily activities and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. This position requires strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Duties
- Maintain accurate medical records, ensuring compliance with medical terminology and coding standards such as ICD-10 and ICD-9.
- Support the medical billing process by understanding DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding and medical collection procedures.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans for patients.
Experience
Candidates should have experience or knowledge in the following areas:
- Medical billing and coding, including familiarity with Mental Health ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG, and medical terminology.
- Understanding of medical records management and medical office procedures.
- Experience in a mental health setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff members.
- A compassionate approach towards patient care, demonstrating patience and understanding in challenging situations.
