Job Summary
We are a small, collaborative homeschool pod seeking a passionate and experienced educator to teach a group of 7th grade students in a dynamic, personalized learning environment. Our ideal teacher is creative, organized, and deeply invested in fostering curiosity, confidence, and academic growth in middle school learners. Our pod prioritizes health and wellness, movement, immersion in nature, play, project-based learning, and social skills.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans across core subjects (e.g., Math, English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies)
Adapt curriculum to meet individual student needs and learning styles
Create a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
Guide students in project-based learning, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary exploration
Supervise elective instructors
Maintain all student paperwork, documentation, and portfolios in adherence to Florida standards
Provide regular progress updates to parents and maintain open communication
Organize regular field trips, guest speakers, or hands-on learning activities
Incorporate elements of social-emotional learning and executive functioning skills
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant field
Prior teaching experience (homeschool, classroom, or tutoring)
Fluency with middle school curriculum standards
Passion for alternative education and small-group learning
Strong communication and classroom management skills
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Outdoor education or nature-based learning experience
Health, wellness, and fitness focused
