Collective Energy Management LLC
Hilo, HI Full Time
POSTED ON 2/11/2025

Who We Are

Collective Energy believes that everyone, no matter who they are, where they live, or how much money they have, should have equal and reliable access to health services, even when the power goes out. As a purpose-and mission-driven business, Collective Energy aims to enable quality, equitable healthcare services for the medically underserved and the most vulnerable in our communities by ensuring energy reliability, affordability, and resiliency by developing low-cost solar and storage systems. These systems bring long-term electricity cost savings and offset carbon emissions.

Who You Are

At Collective Energy, we are looking for candidates who want to be a part of something bigger than themselves - authentic, purpose-driven individuals who want their career to have a meaningful impact on the world. We want candidates who are strongly motivated, self-directed, thrive on relationships, keen on helping develop processes and procedures, and are comfortable with a certain level of uncertainty in this early, fast-paced, and rapidly growing environment. This is an opportunity to shape the future direction of the company, implement systems for scale, and support clean and resilient energy projects that make a real impact on both the climate and the health and well-being of low-income and marginalized individuals across the country.

The Project Manager, Clean Energy Hawai'i will be primarily responsible for working with health centers from early-outreach into development and through construction and final interconnection. This role is critical-it is customer facing and the candidate must reflect the principles of the organization-ensuring our mission-first focus and desire to support the transition of the community health sector to clean and reliable energy.

A heavy emphasis will be placed on external communication with health center leadership and installer partners, organizational skills, information sharing, basic understanding and willingness to learn solar storage system design, a basic understanding of project financing, timeliness in responding and seeing projects through to completion.

The position will help manage the health center project from start to finish, from initial contact, the intake process, site screening & goal setting, performing a preliminary design and follow-up review (with some onsite / in-person meetings). The position will also help research and vet Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partners, reviewing bids, monitoring construction timelines, and conducting minor contract reviews to ensure seamless project execution.

What You'll Do

  • Outreach to new and existing health centers; following up in a timely manner
  • Adding new contacts, projects, and project schedules into CRM (Monday.com)
  • Collaborating with health centers (and the Hawaiian Primary Care Association) to collect necessary information for preliminary system design and feasibility assessments, aligning with the health centers' objectives.
  • Assisting with input on solar modeling software to model and refine screenings / proposals for virtual presentations.
  • Coordinating closely with design and engineering partners to facilitate project screening, feasibility, and eventual design.
  • Coordinating additional elements of active projects, including site visits, health center updates, and communications opportunities.
  • Supporting and maintaining project schedules and budgets, from early-stage development through project construction and interconnection.
  • Researching and assisting in evaluating local Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) firms and reviewing bids.
  • Handling basic editing, distribution, review, filing, and organization of project contracts and documents, such as Letters of Intent, Energy Service Agreements, EPC agreements, Permit Applications, Interconnection Agreements, utility rebates and incentive applications, financial models, and consulting agreements.
  • Supporting leadership in preparing presentations and abstracts for speaking and presentation opportunities.
  • Cultivating relationships and fostering rapport with partners by anticipating their needs and understanding their unique organizational objectives. This involves expanding the network of EPCs, manufacturers, project engineers / designers, and funders.
  • Assistance with grant reporting (narrative, gathering feedback, project updates, etc.).
  • Supporting workforce training efforts that align with Collective Energy's goals.
