S.T.A.R. Site-based Program Coordinator (SBPC) (20 hours, Part-time) Non-Exempt

The College Mentoring Experience (CME) S.T.A.R. Site-based Program Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive mentoring program aimed at supporting the academic and personal development of female students ranging from 6th grade through college. This role involves coordinating on-site mentorship activities, nurturing positive relationships between mentors and mentees, and ensuring the overall success of the mentoring program. The S.T.A.R. Site-based Program Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities :

  • Recruit, train, and onboard mentors, ensuring they possess the skills and knowledge necessary to provide effective support and guidance to students across different age groups.
  • Conduct mentor training sessions covering relevant topics such as age-appropriate communication, goal setting, and mentorship best practices.
  • Establish and implement evaluation mechanisms to assess the effectiveness and impact of the mentorship program across different age groups.
  • Collect and analyze data on program outcomes, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Regularly communicate with mentors, students, and stakeholders to provide updates, share resources, and address any concerns.
  • Collaborate with marketing and outreach teams to promote the program and attract potential mentors and mentees.
  • Plan and organize mentorship events, workshops, and activities suitable for various age groups to enhance relationships and build a sense of community.
  • Coordinate recognition and appreciation events to celebrate the contributions of mentors and mentees.
  • Develop and curate resources, materials, and tools suitable for different age groups to support mentors in their role and enhance the overall mentoring experience for participants.
  • Provide guidance and support to students facing academic, personal, or transitional challenges, connecting them with appropriate resources.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities and program outcomes across different age groups.
  • Prepare regular reports for stakeholders on the progress and impact of the mentorship program.
  • Site-based events and workshops will be held each Saturday with staff meetings and some program prep hours during the weekday as required; 8 : 30am – 3 : 30pm Saturdays with 13 hours to be scheduled during the week.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Forms, and Teams).
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to move about the site, carry materials, and engage with participants in active settings (e.g., workshops, events).
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, as required by the nature of the program.

  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social work, or a related field is required.
  • Previous experience in mentoring programs, non-profit organizations, or related educational support initiatives.
  • Must be able to successfully pass background checks.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Organizational and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of best practices in mentoring and student support services.
