Position title: Manager, Human Resources
Status: Full-time, Exempt
Standard Hours: 8 hours a day, Monday through Friday within the 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. window
Location: In office during initial training, then hybrid (approximately 3 days in office each week, 2 days remote each week) which is dependent on business needs.
Reports To: Senior Director, Human Resources
Starting Salary: Starting at $54,000 annually and increases with relevant experience.

Position Summary:
The Manager, Human Resources, oversees and executes the planning, implementation, and evaluation of human resources initiatives focusing on and leading organization-wide training and professional development, employee relations, performance management, compliance efforts with company policies and legal regulations, and wellness initiatives. The Manager ensures HR strategies are aligned with organizational goals, fostering a productive and inclusive work environment.
Essential Functions:
Initiation and Planning
- Propose new human resource initiatives outlining benefits, costs, and potential impacts.
- Lead the planning and implementation of new initiatives, guiding a project team or committee through the process.
- Identify organization and department training and professional development needs; prioritize needs and design opportunities to address the needs.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and tracking of the annual performance review process, to include researching and implementing best practices.
- Represent human resources on College Now’s DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging) internal sub-committee, supporting efforts to develop immediate initiatives, and long-term plans, to promote equity and inclusion within the organization.
Execution/Operations, Management, and Monitoring
- Drive and implement workplace efficiencies/improvements in HR processes and Human Resources Information System(HRIS).
- Conduct evaluations of department training and professional development initiatives, monitor outcomes, and research best practices to foster continuous improvement.
- With department director, provide performance management support to supervisors and collaborate to resolve employee conflicts, ensuring fair treatment and adherence to company policies.
- Promote a culture of wellness by developing, managing, and monitoring annual organization-wide wellness initiatives.
- Along with other department team members, monitor human resources help desk inquiries and respond promptly.
Budgeting
- In conjunction with department director: estimate, plan and manage the financial resources for HR initiatives, working to maintain cost efficiency.
Leadership and Staff Development:
- Work with department director to foster a positive work environment by promoting a culture of respect, collaboration and inclusivity through effectively addressing employee concerns and reinforcing organizational values.
- Plan and implement stay interviews as a means of staff development and retention.
- Attend monthly all-supervisor meetings and lead training sessions as needed.
- In conjunction with the department director, delegate tasks, as appropriate, to HR staff, assist with monitoring HR staff performance, resolve issues or adjust processes as needed.
- Serve as a mentor to HR staff, fostering growth and preparation for advanced responsibilities.
Research and Program Evaluation/Compliance
- Maintain strict confidentiality and consistently employ proper handling of employee information.
- Use analytics to assess the impact of human resources initiatives.
- Regularly review organization and department policies and procedures, updating and creating new policies and procedures as necessary.
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures across departments.
- Monitor the completion of required training and maintain documentation for compliance purposes.
- Ensure all work activities align with organization policies, norms, and strategic plan goals, in addition to complying with current federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Must-Have Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with using a Human Resource Information System; Paycom experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Office 365; Word and Excel expertise required.
Previous Work Experience:
- Five years of progressive experience in human resources, that includes at least two years of leading/managing human resources initiatives.
- Minimum of one year of supervisory and/or mentoring experience.
Education Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in HR is a plus.
