The College of Lake County (CLC) is currently looking to hire a Student Success Manager. The Student Success Manager, under the supervision of the Dean of the Adult Education and ESL Division, is responsible for the student success program that involves meeting ICCB performance targets on transition to college and workforce metrics. This position plans, implements, monitors, and reports on the student success initiatives to increase transition to college and the workforce. The Adult Education Student Success Manager is also accountable for the assessment, measurement and reporting of transition outcomes. 40Job Description:
1) Manages the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of student success initiatives to meet ICCB performance, particularly transition to college and workforce metrics.
2) Manages the development of programs for transition into college transfer and career programs and the workforce.
3) Supervises staff providing student support services, coaching, and transition programs to college or the workforce to help students reach their academic, career, and educational goals.
4) Provides guidance and expertise in the use of data to increase enrollment and to develop curriculum, instructional support, teaching strategies, tutoring, and student support services to meet transition metrics.
5) Assist with identifying, writing, and reporting on grants associated with transitions.
Department Operations and Procedures: 20%
1) Using case management systems, develops regular progress reports showing student cases notes on their transition to college and workforce progress.
2) Uses technology efficiently and effectively to implement, monitor and report on progress of student success initiatives.
3) Plans and implements recruitment strategies for transition programs such as Bridge and ICAPS to industry clusters.
4) Works with the Adult Education Data and Academic Operations Supervisor, and the Institutional Effectiveness, Planning & Research to conduct studies on effective student success initiatives.
5) Supports the Dean, faculty and staff in developing transition programs or courses that will meet program objectives.
Student and Customer Service: 10%
1) Coordinates specific activities such as the HSE graduation, Student Success Fair, Job Fairs, and other student success events.
2) Collaborates with faculty and staff from the Division and other areas of the college to develop retention, transition, performance, and other student success programs.
Other: 5%
1) Attends required ICCB Adult Education meetings
2) Attends the Area Planning Council District 532 meetings
3) Other duties as assigned by the Dean
Required Qualification(s)
- Bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum of five (5) years working at a post-secondary educational institution, adult education, social service agency, or non-profit organization or related experience.
- A minimum of two (2) years' supervisory experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong project management, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Ability to synthesize, summarize, interpret, and report on outcomes.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of applications, information systems, and databases.
- Proven ability to work effectively and constructively with persons of diverse cultures, language groups, and abilities; demonstrate sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Desired Qualification(s)
- Master’s degree.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lead and facilitate meetings and workshops.
- Experience working with people with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
Salary:
$63,731- $70,000 The salary offer in this range will be based on education and experience. This range is firm.
