The Institutional Advancement department at the College of Saint Benedict invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE, Flexible hours with evening and weekend hours), benefit eligible position of Annual Giving Associate – Philanthropic Engagement.

The Annual Giving Associate is responsible for planning, managing, and implementing a multichannel campus philanthropy program, inclusive of leading the Student Advancement Ambassador (SAA) program, student club and organization fundraising training, departmental fundraising, campus crowdfunding initiatives, faculty and staff giving, student philanthropy, young alum giving and engagement.  
 
The Annual Giving Associate will create, in partnership with Marketing, and implement personalized communications and touchpoints with constituents across multiple platforms, with the goal of increasing giving and engagement. The Annual Giving Associate represents the College’s positive image and reinforces its mission. The Annual Giving Associate is a member of a dynamic Annual Giving team and will be an integral part of the greater Institutional Advancement team. The Annual Giving team is responsible for inspiring and soliciting annual financial support for student scholarships and campus resources from alumnae, parents, and friends of the college.

The posted wage represents CSB and SJU's good faith estimate of likely compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay will be dependent upon several factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and skills, and may fall outside of the range indicated.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive campus philanthropy program. Including, but not limited to, managing a student philanthropy program, including support of Alumnae in Training efforts. 
  • Recruit and Lead Senior Class Engagement Committee with a focus on fostering a culture of giving within the senior class by recruiting and managing a dedicated engagement committee.
  • Collaborate with student clubs and organizations, faculty, and staff to provide training and support for their fundraising activities.
  • Responsible for hiring, supervising, supporting, developing, and evaluating student employees within the SAA program.
  • Partner with Institutional Advancement to design and execute multi-channel fundraising and engagement strategies, including texting, video, email, social media, mail, and phone campaigns to increase college giving and constituent engagement.
  • Work with Alumnae Relations to develop and maintain an effective transition plan that fosters sustained engagement from students to young alumni.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Annual Giving, design and implement a comprehensive Young Alumnae President’s Circle (YAPC) program.
  • Partner with the Director of Annual Giving to assess the effectiveness of the SAA program, student philanthropy initiatives, faculty and staff giving, and young alumnae giving. Implement strategies to enhance overall efficiency and performance.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Annual Giving to develop and execute successful crowdfunding campaigns.
  • Work closely with IT and Advancement Systems to ensure all activities comply with policies and maintain data integrity.  
  • Assume responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Annual Giving to help achieve annual giving objectives. 
  • Work collaboratively with Alumnae Relations to execute a robust Reunion Giving program, focusing on recruiting and managing reunion volunteers. 
  • Continuously update knowledge on trends in philanthropy and annual giving to ensure best practices are followed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:                                                                
  • Bachelor's Degree  
  • At least one year of experience in one or more of the following: fundraising, alumni relations, non-profit, or sales. Experiences as a student, intern, or volunteer may qualify.  
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to deal effectively and sensitively with constituents.  
  • A demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and diversity.
  • Time management skills and use of effective tracking methods to complete work and projects, prioritize tasks in an environment of changing time constraints, and ability to work independently and effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.  
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills that demonstrate respect for others, support for department and organizational goals and the ability to work as part of a team.  
  • Ability to analyze information to identify key issues and effectively adjust.  
  • Proficient software skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, internet, and database familiarity.  
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and some overnight travel. 
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience working with and organizing students preferred.  
  • Management experience  
  • Project management experience  
  • Experience with digital marketing  
  • Understanding of trends in and principles of higher education and philanthropy 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally. 
  • Times of sitting or standing for prolonged periods. 
  • Ability to work at a computer for prolonged periods.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Some travel between the campuses of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University. 
  • Infrequent travel to events within Minnesota, mostly the Twin Cities or surrounding area of campus.
