The individual in this position assists in providing testing services at their designated campus testing center and supports high school and national testing as assigned, under the general supervision of the Testing Center Supervisor. The Testing Center Assistant ensures confidentiality of testing services while upholding the integrity and security of the Testing Center.Reports to: Supervisor, Testing CenterThe College of Southern Maryland conducts background checks in order to ensure the safety and well-being of the College's staff and students. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS45% ProctoringAdministers correspondence tests on behalf of students taking courses through other colleges and/or universities. Works with students and outside institutions to secure receipt of exam materials, proctoring, and following return instructions.Administers credit by examination for CSM departments and for CLEP and DSST. Completes required training and certifications required by exam companies.Administers placement tests, inputs scores into Colleague as needed, and provides score report results to students. Directs student to placement preparation resources.Administers certification tests through a variety of vendors such as Pearson Vue, Meazure Learning and ensures individual company policies are adhered to regarding exams and exam candidate instructions. Monitors the testing center via cameras and walk throughs with professionalism. Guarantees and protects against student violations of CSM’s Student Code of Conduct.Administers CSM Course tests and adheres to CSM professor’s instructions.Keeps RegisterBlast updated while testers are testing. Performs online testing for ALEKS. Follows guidelines and procedures effectively.Reviews remote testing sessions through Examity and/or ProctorU. Keeps the Testing Center organized and cleanly. Such as cleaning off desks between testers and at the end of the day. Shredding and filing necessary paperwork. Keeps student supplies refilled and clean. Such as sharpening pencils. Cleaning off Pearson VUE and other’s dry erase boards. 25% ConfidentialityAssists in maintaining test security for all tests.Enforces ID policy and requirements.Keeps all instructor test files confidential and secure. Excellent verbal, written, and reporting communication skills.Ability to work autonomously and as a team member.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe work is primarily sedentary and requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly. WORK ENVIRONMENTFlexibility is required, as the work schedule for this position requires day, evening, and Saturdays. Work is performed in a relatively safe, and secure work environment.
