Job Description

Based on the volume of applications received this recruitment may close at any time. Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Under direct supervision, responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

Assist faculty with college policies and procedures, process requests for office supplies, and distribute materials to faculty

Request and monitor the submission of syllabi and faculty office hours

Notify students of class changes / cancellations

Notify Department Chair, Lead Faculty and / or Department Coordinators, and Campus Administrators when instructor is absent or a class is moved, and post notice on classroom

Establish, organize, and maintain appropriate records and files (syllabi, exams, adjunct records, evaluations, etc.)

Access student records

Greet and assist visitors, provide information regarding college services, class schedules, degree programs, registration procedures, etc.

Answer and route telephone calls, take messages and check voicemail

Maintain Xerox machine, fax and printers; notify technician for needed repairs

Notify Facilities of equipment repairs / replacement and OTS for classroom equipment / needs

Distribute incoming mail

Manage print requests

Other duties assigned by Department Chair

Required Qualifications

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of clerical experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas : maintaining records, answering telephones, and reviewing forms, documents and other written materials; OR six months of experience as an Administrative Aid in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to use Microsoft Suite, Workday, Outlook, 25Live, eFollett and MyCSN.

Work Hours

Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm. There may be rare overtime possibilities at the beginning of the Spring and Fall semesters, based on the needs of the college.

There may be some travel between campuses for training.

Starting Salary

Grade 23, Step 1 - $39,421.44.

Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
