What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista position at College of the Holy Cross?
JOB DESCRIPTION
Perform various duties to set up and operate a coffee/smoothie shop including running a cappuccino and smoothie machine. Prepare and serve a wide variety of specialty coffee drinks and prepared food to patrons following established practices and procedures. Responsibilities include serving guests, answer questions and promote menu options, taking payment from customers, stocking and rotating product inventory, setting up and cleaning food production and service areas following proper sanitation standards. Assist in the set-up, execution and clean-up of catered events as needed. Perform other similar or related duties as required or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent hospitality, merchandising and communication skills preferred and needed to provide a welcoming, friendly and professional manner to all our guests. Certification in ServSafe (food safety/sanitation) and experience/training in special food allergy meal preparation preferred.
Prior food service experience strongly preferred. Coffee shop/cappuccino machine experience a plus. Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and 100 pounds with assistance.
DAYS & HOURS:
Holy Cross Dining staff are considered Emergency Essential Personnel and are required to report during times of inclement weather. Must be flexible. Schedule may change depending on the needs of the department.
CURRENT SCHEDULE: Tuesday - Saturday / 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
