What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director Vanek Center for Vocation and Callings position at College of the Ozarks?
College of the Ozarks invites applications for a full-time director of its career services center, The Vanek Center for Vocation and Callings. A Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is required, and a Master’s degree is preferred. The starting date is no later than August 1, 2025, salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The Director reports to the VP for Vocational Activities and Dean of Admissions and works with students to help them recognize and explore their post-graduate options. This role works closely with students to engage and empower them to understand their vocation and callings. This is an important role that requires excellent communication skills and empathy.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES include but are not limited to:
- Assist students by engaging and empowering them to understand their vocation and callings according to their values and skills identification.
- Assist students with the development of personal mission statements, vocational strategies, coaching, and classroom interaction.
- Develop engagement opportunities with students, including career expositions, mock interviewing, and helping them develop personal connections with employers.
- Provide advice to students regarding the creation of a strong online professional presence to secure post-graduate employment.
- Collaborate with college faculty and work educators to enrich student opportunities.
- Assist students in developing networking systems through LinkedIn, alumni interaction, and vocation trips.
- Develop and maintain relationships with off-campus stakeholders.
- Cultivate leadership development through the integration of programs in academic and work programs, as well as student life across the campus.
- Interview, select, train, and supervise staff.
- Perform other duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree preferred, ideally in the Organizational Leadership or Education field.
- 5 years of relevant experience.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must maintain a valid, current driver's license.
- Certified Transitional Coaching, Developmental Coaching, and/or Certified RIASEC Assessment Coach preferred.
