College of the Ozarks invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in engineering starting fall 2025. The ABET-accredited multi-disciplinary engineering program includes core courses in mechanical, electrical, civil, industrial, agricultural, and chemical engineering. Our student-focused undergraduate institution values self-motivated, versatile faculty with strong teaching skills and the ability to work and communicate effectively with other faculty members.
The successful candidate will embrace the College’s Christ-centered mission, demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence, desire to serve as a mentor and positive role model, and pursue integration of the engineering teaching and practice with Christian faith.
Teaching responsibilities will include core engineering topics in areas of departmental need, particularly those relevant to the selected candidate's engineering background. Candidates with experience in industrial/manufacturing or chemical engineering and who can teach courses across multiple disciplines will be given preference. Non-teaching responsibilities include working with other faculty and staff to maintain laboratory equipment, advising students, and participating in assessment and evaluation activities to maintain ABET accreditation.
A Ph.D. in engineering, undergraduate teaching experience, engineering licensure, and industry experience are preferred. As a minimum, the candidate should hold an M.S. in engineering or an M.S. in a relevant non-engineering field accompanied by either 18 hours of graduate-level course work in engineering or significant, documented engineering experience.
College of the Ozarks is a small (1,400 students), liberal arts, work-study college with a commitment to evangelical Christian faith and service, located in southwest Missouri near Branson (www.cofo.edu). Class sizes are small, generally 10-30 students in STEM courses. The college has a strong sense of community among faculty, staff, and students.
