Primary Purpose:

The Coordinator of School Improvement (CSI) for College Station ISD plays a critical role in supporting campus leaders, teachers, and district administrators in developing and implementing strategies that enhance student achievement. The CSI will work collaboratively with the Director of School Improvement in several aspects of school improvement work. This position focuses on professional learning, educator development, school data-driven decision-making, instructional best practices, and continuous school improvement efforts to ensure all students meet or exceed academic standards.

 

Education/Certification:

Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field (required)

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Texas school accountability measures, including STAAR, A-F rating system, and TEA intervention frameworks
  • Expertise in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and intervention strategies 
  • Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and the ability to coach others in using data to drive instructional improvement
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with principals, teachers, district personnel, and community partners

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in teaching, instructional coaching, or campus/district leadership (required)
  • Understanding of change leadership and management best practices 
  • Experience in leading successful school change initiatives
  • Experience in data analysis, school improvement planning, and working with diverse student populations
  • Experience with Texas state accountability systems, ESSA requirements, and school turnaround strategies

School Improvement Planning & Implementation:

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Campus Improvement Plans (CIPs) in alignment with CSISD’s strategic plan and accountability measures, and required state improvement plans
  • Assist low-performing and targeted support campuses in identifying and addressing areas of growth through research-based interventions
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with state and federal school improvement requirements, including Title I and accountability standards.

 

Data Analysis & Progress Monitoring:

  • Support campuses in analyzing and interpreting student performance data, to inform instructional strategies
  • Guide schools in setting SMART goals tracking progress, and making data-informed instructional adjustments
  • Assist in the development of data-driven professional learning communities (PLCs) focused on improving student outcomes

 

Professional Development & Instructional Leadership Support:

  • Plan and deliver professional development on effective instructional strategies, data literacy, and school improvement processes
  • Work with principals, instructional coaches, and teacher leaders to strengthen teaching practices and curriculum implementation
  • Work with principals, MTSS coordinators, instructional coaches and district staff to promote the use of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) for student success 
  • Assist in the development and management of Title II and Title IV federal programs

 

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely under the guidance, direction, and in collaboration with the Director of School Improvement
  • Work closely in collaboration with district and campus administrators
  • Serve as a liaison between campuses, district leadership, and community stakeholders to support continuous school improvement efforts
  • Provide regular reports on campus progress, intervention effectiveness, and accountability measures to district leadership
  • Support the implementation of district-wide initiatives to ensure equity and excellence in student achievement
  • Provide program training, support, administration, oversight and management

 

 

Work Environment & Conditions:

  • This position will require travel between campuses within CSISD
  • Occasional evening or weekend meetings may be required to support parent engagement and board presentations
