Job Title: Summer Day Camp Health Care Staff Member (Temporary) 2025
Reports to: Kids Klub Director
Dept/School: Campus Assigned
Pay Grade: TBD - Special Funded Per Annual Budget Allowance
Wage Status: Nonexempt
Days: 70
Primary Purpose:
Oversee and provide medical and healthcare services to campers through first aid, CPR, medication administration, and any other health related needs.
Qualifications: Education/Certification:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must have a high school diploma
Currently certified in first aid and CPR
CNA (preferred)
Educational hours obtained towards Nursing or EMT certification (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to safely lift and carry 50lbs - 100lbs
Experience:
- Experience working with school-age children in an after school or summer program
- Experience with general first aid application
- Experience with medication administration (preferred)
Training:
- All staff members must be First Aid and CPR certified (can be trained by SDC).
- All staff members must be CPI certified (Crisis Prevention Intervention; will be trained by SDC.)
- All staff members must participate in the Child Abuse Awareness training
- All staff are required to attend the applicant orientation, staff retreat for camp training, planning and any other designated staff development.
Daily Responsibilities (but not limited to)
- Provide first aid, CPR, and any other health related services when appropriate
- Administer camper medications according to program procedures
- Document and communicate all medical & health services provided
- Maintain & provide camper medical and special needs information for camp staff
- Maintain & prepare all first aid kits
- Prepare camper medical/health necessities for field trips
- Be knowledgeable about and adhere to proper procedures and expectations set forth by the Department of Family Protective Services, the Summer Day Camp handbook, and the school district employee handbook
- Staff members must be committed, caring, and understanding; they must be aware that they are to be positive role models for the campers.
- Portraying a professional and positive attitude and using leadership qualities effectively
- Maintains all building facilities, camp supplies, and equipment with care and pride. Reports any hazards to Site Supervisor
Communication Responsibilities:
- Communicate openly with parents in a friendly manner about any medical or health services administered to their child while at camp.
- Communicating openly and interacting professionally with school personnel, parents, and camp staff/directors/office personnel
- Attend weekly staff meeting.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting.
