About this role: We are seeking a receptionist to serve as a critical member of our school’s Operations Team. They are the face of our school for visitors and families- they fundamentally shape the community perception of our network.
About Collegiate Academies: Collegiate Academies prepares all students for lives of unlimited opportunity. Founded in 2008, Collegiate Academies serves over 3,000 students in five public high schools and two postsecondary programs in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. We see the individual greatness of every student who comes through our doors. We serve a dramatically higher proportion of students with special needs, students who are English language learners, and students who are from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Our teams engage in regular observations, weekly coaching meetings and ongoing learning through professional development.
Responsibilities:
Front Office Management
- Establish and maintain the main office, supply storage spaces, and staff break room as a welcoming, secure, calm, and clean environment for visitors, students, and staff.
- Meet the needs of all visitors and staff in a timely and respectful fashion while maintaining records of all visitors, students, and vendors in the front office.
- Answer phone calls and voicemails in a courteous manner.
- Order supplies as requested by staff.
- Receive packages and mail l each day.
- Assist Principal, DFO, and network team with special projects.
Attendance and Student Records
- Assist with student registration and enrollment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily attendance records and student data.
- Correct all errors in attendance daily and communicate habitual errors or issues with attendance to teachers and appropriate leaders.
- Log any student early dismissals and communicate with bus drivers and teaching teams.
- Process all student records requests in accordance with our handbook and in a timely manner.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in managing online databases and calendars.
- Hold high expectations for student interns and be willing to coach them as they build skills and independence.
- Foster positive rapport and relationships with students, families, visitors, and community members.
- Demonstrate flexibility and creatively embrace ambiguities of building a school.
